The "Temperament" or the habitual psycho-emotional expression of a person, depends partly on the transmitted family inheritance and partly on post-natal conditioning.
The six basic “Temperaments” are represented by the “Six energy axis” or the channel systems which constitute a bridge between the inner world “Microcosm” and the outer changes the “Macrocosm”, and define the basic responses and adaptations to outer events. Constitutions and Temperaments have a major influence on “Belief” mechanisms and further influence the physiology as well as the pathology of a person.
This understanding provides a key for freeing oneself from the habitual mind-sets and behaviours.
Choosing acupuncture strategies and points adapted to the temperament, constitutes the art of treating a person rather than a disease.
Hamid Montakab graduated from the Medical School of Paris, completed an education in acupuncture in France and in China. He practiced in the US and later founded the Academy of Chinese Healing Arts in Switzerland and was co-founder and president of the Swiss Professional Organization for TCM.

The workshop focuses on the process of co-building a working alliance.
We discuss some main features of the therapeutic relationship: the structure of communication and the emotional, mental, physical space of the treatment.
We see how to deal with:
the daily management of time, requests, money
the dynamics of empathy and neutrality
the deep movements stirred up by the use needles
the expression of hidden or violent emotions
the yin attitude of “being there”
We work with illnesses and suffering, it is a delicate matter.
The encounter of patient and practitioner requires a specific attention.
To improve therapeutic results we need not to be submerged by what takes place inside the relationship.
The classics give a great attention to it – quotations will be discussed in the workshop.
Clinical cases are given throughout all the issues.

As the essence of the plant, essential oils represent a very special and dynamic relationship of wei qi and yuan qi. In this introduction to the use of essential oils from a Chinese medical perspective, we will discuss the way in which any essential oil operates on the body via its nature and functions. We will discuss the care and formulation of essential oils and how to discern good quality and retain therapeutic action through a course of treatment. We will then consider specific essential oils created from both common plants such as Eucalyptus and Chinese herbal medicinals such as Schizandra. We’ll examine how they can be used to work with disorders occurring at the essence level such as cancer, infertility, personality disorders and auto-immune conditions.
Josephine Spilka, M.S., L.Ac., has been practicing Classical Chinese Medicine and Buddhist meditation for over 20 years, and is focused on investigating the relationship with essence in its many forms.

People have traits which individualize them. These traits manifest in their talents, predispositions, and strengths. Chinese Face Reading helps recognize these tendencies, and how they are reflected in facial features. This can help to find the right person for the job, or the right job for the person. Recognizing such signs such as of one who: needs to be in charge, is a good cooperative follower, doesn't listen to others well, is a strongly practical person, is a strong intellectual, makes an ideal receptionist, or is a cautious investor, can all be helpful in our integrative working lives. This course also addresses the different five element qualities in work, and how to appreciate someone who works in a wood way, or in a metal way, and thus, enhance this value.
An authority on Face Reading and Diagnosis, Lillian Bridges has been teaching for over 30 years on the topic, and is the founder of The Lotus Institute. She is a featured speaker worldwide.

Weight problems are predominantly spiritual and emotional in origin. The purpose of this course is to explain how personality, constitution and trauma play complicated and intertwined roles in creating weight gain or loss.
Everyone knows that if you overeat, you will gain weight, and if you under eat, you will lose weight; however, the story is really more complex. For this reason, the Phytobiophysics Mossop Philosophy has an important role to play in assisting patients with weight problems.
Phytobiophysics is a modality that uses flower and tree essences to facilitate healing. The Mossop Philosophy is a means of assessing the causal factors of disease and then utilizing the essences of living flowers and plants to regulate specific cellular systems to stimulate recovery.
This is an advanced course that is meant for students who have previous experience with Phytobiophysics. We recommend you take the course "The Heart Lock Theory" before this one.
