Overview

Treating Neck and Shoulder Posture is designed for the orthopedic and sports acupuncturist. This course emphasizes diagnosis and assessment, with all treatment plans and choice of points based upon anatomical factors. Included are trigger points, motor points, and muscle-tendon junctions. The yin-yang relationship between shoulder retraction and protraction is described, with clinically effective points and treatment strategies. The following structures are covered in this three-hour course: (1) The shoulder retractors: The rhomboid major and minor. Highlights: Region of Bl 42, Bl 43. (2) The shoulder protractors: Pectoralis major and minor. Highlights: The region of Lu 1, St 14, St 15, St 16 3. (3) The posterior neck. Highlights: Bl 10, Bailao.
