Biography

Dr. Shin was born & raised in N. Virginia and received his degree in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (Boston, MA). His research thesis through Drexel College of Medicine (Philadelphia, PA) focused on Sigma-1 protein’s role in ALS’ neurodegeneration. He received a master’s & doctoral degree in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM). He then completed the TCM residency program with Highland Hospital’s Internal medicine’s division of Integrative medicine. Worked for UC Davis’ Department of Anesthesia & Pain Medicine. Currently pioneering the first acupuncture program for the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center as the Acupuncture Program Coordinator.

We only use your personal information to provide the best possible products and services to you. This includes:

  • determining the country you are in so that we can refer you to the right Partner in your region to buy courses and related products;
  • providing and managing your Account;
  • providing and managing your access to Our Site;

  • the teachers of the courses you have registered for, who will have access to your full name on Our Site;

  • the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) will receive your first name, last name, email address, and license number(s) if you request a certificate of completion from them; this is because they email the certificates themselves;
  • Kurativz Pvt. Ltd. may have access to your name and email in order to assist you with your support queries;
  • Hosts for events you have registered for may have access to your full name for attendance purposes, and your email if you request an NCCAOM certificate (they are required to submit this to NCCAOM to create your certificate);
  • Any individual to whom we are legally required to share certain data held by us, which may include your personal information, for example, where we are involved in legal proceedings, where we are complying with the requirements of legislation, a court order, or a governmental authority. We do not require any further consent from you in order to share your data in such circumstances and will comply as required with any legally binding request that is made of us.

What Happens If Our Business Changes Hands?

We may, from time to time, expand or reduce our business and this may involve the sale or the transfer of control of all or part of our business. Personal information provided by users will, where it is relevant to any part of our business so transferred, be transferred along with that part and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this Privacy Policy, be permitted to use your personal information for the purposes for which it was originally collected by us.

Continuing Education Credits

It is your responsibility to review the continuing education requirements of your professional association and to complete all of the course requirements in order to obtain your certificate of completion from Net of Knowledge. Net of Knowledge is not responsible for any licensing issues that may result from your failure to complete requirements or submit certificates for licensing renewal.
