Overview

This 2-day cutting-edge course will teach the practitioner how to assess postural dysfunction and prescribe therapeutic exercises for muscle and channel imbalances that have directly contributed to the patient's injury. This course will teach important skills to prescribe exercises in the management of their patient’s health care. Exercising different body parts simultaneously in specific and coordinated motions activates the myofascial jingjin so that form and function can align. The practitioner will learn to integrate acupuncture protocols with exercise prescription, including intra-dermal needle prescriptions on the Extraordinary Vessel master points to alleviate discomfort, increase proprioception and enhance clinical outcomes.

Overview

Classical Five-Element Acupuncture is one of the most profound and complete systems of medicine in the world. Practiced in accord with timeless natural laws, this system addresses the needs of the patient as a whole: at the levels of body, mind, and spirit.

The Classical Five-Element Acupuncture Program offers Acupuncturists and other licensed medical professionals the opportunity to become certified as Classical Five-Element practitioners. The program is taught by Neil R. Gumenick, M.Ac. (UK), C.T. (Adv.), L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM), and a team of faculty and guest faculty approved by the Director.

Now, this part-time 10 session program is available for you online through Net of Knowledge across 2021-2022, including two practical sessions in California (if situations permit).

The Causative Factor:

Rather than palliating symptoms, which like warning lights on the dashboard of a car, are only signals of deeper imbalance, Classical Five-Element Acupuncture diagnoses and treats at the level of cause.

Every human being is born with, or develops early in life, a primary imbalance in one of the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water) and its associated organs and functions. This is known as the Causative Factor and is the source of the myriad symptoms a person develops over a lifetime. Once identified and properly treated, unless the condition is truly beyond the reach of Nature to reverse, Nature will throw the disease out, regardless of its label.

Diagnosis, Treatment, Patient Management:

Each of the Elements has a corresponding odor, color, vocal sound, and emotion. In imbalance, these correspondences will manifest inappropriately in the patient and reveal the Causative Factor. In this Program, you will learn to reawaken your innate senses: to smell, see, hear, and feel.

Become the practitioner you always wanted to be—join us for this deep learning journey!

Overview

“Love” is an imperative for healthy living.  “Lack of love” dramatically affects health and is a treatable condition.  In this presentation Dr Dunas will introduce the qualities and complex energetic make up of love.   She will address the following questions:  How does the capacity to love develop in patients as they go through each jing cycle into maturity?   How is love defined and what historical reference points help us understand the definition of love according to Chinese medicine?  How does culture help and hinder patients as they create, experience and give love? How can you, as a practitioner, enhance a patient’s experience of love, even during globally stressful times? How do energetic imbalances and clinical health problems affect a patient’s capacity to love? What is "false love" and why is it so prevalent in our world?  What happens energetically when we fall in love or fall out of love?  What are the energetic patterns that make up heartsickness?  How does love heal and how can we help those under our care thrive with the capasity to love during stress?

How the Classical Chinese View on Emotions Can Help Us Today

Overview

As human beings, we cannot be without emotions. At the same time, emotions disturb us to the point that we act no more with reason or intelligence. When a situation triggers an emotion, it is usually an important matter needing an accurate reaction, true to life; and it is precisely that what the emotions prevent us to do. The classical Chinese medicine’s approach of emotions, specially agitation and anxiety, exposes what happens inside ourselves, in our heart-mind, as well as in our blood and qi, our organs, and gives leads to regulate ourselves and to come back to a more balanced assessment of the situation and efficient action.
