Biography

Josephine K. Spilka, M.S. L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist, practicing since 1994 with a Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Samra University in Los Angeles. Shortly after graduating, she was introduced to the synthesis of classical teachings and the modern practice of Chinese medicine by Sharon Weizenbaum and Jeffrey Yuen beginning in 1996.

Josephine teaches, mentors and consults in Chinese medicine and Buddhist meditation. Additionally, as a former faculty member of Daoist Traditions College of Chinese
Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina, she taught core curriculum courses utilizing classical systems such as Divergent Meridians, Luo Vessels, and Eight Extraordinary Vessels as well as supervising students in the college clinic and conducting case reviews. Combining deep study with practical application, Josephine aspires to share the benefits of putting the classical teachings into clinical practice with her students and other licensed professionals.

In all that she does, Josephine is focused on investigating the relationship with essence in its many forms. Growing and innovating from her foundation in Chinese medicine, she teaches on essential oils and Chinese medicine, shares contemplative photography, and serves others in finding and mining their own essence. With pith and passion, Josephine brings together many streams of teachings to offer an inspiring and practical application of ancient wisdom.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We only use your personal information to provide the best possible products and services to you. This includes:

  • determining the country you are in so that we can refer you to the right Partner in your region to buy courses and related products;
  • providing and managing your Account;
  • providing and managing your access to Our Site;

  • the teachers of the courses you have registered for, who will have access to your full name on Our Site;

  • the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) will receive your first name, last name, email address, and license number(s) if you request a certificate of completion from them; this is because they email the certificates themselves;
  • Kurativz Pvt. Ltd. may have access to your name and email in order to assist you with your support queries;
  • Hosts for events you have registered for may have access to your full name for attendance purposes, and your email if you request an NCCAOM certificate (they are required to submit this to NCCAOM to create your certificate);
  • Any individual to whom we are legally required to share certain data held by us, which may include your personal information, for example, where we are involved in legal proceedings, where we are complying with the requirements of legislation, a court order, or a governmental authority. We do not require any further consent from you in order to share your data in such circumstances and will comply as required with any legally binding request that is made of us.

What Happens If Our Business Changes Hands?

We may, from time to time, expand or reduce our business and this may involve the sale or the transfer of control of all or part of our business. Personal information provided by users will, where it is relevant to any part of our business so transferred, be transferred along with that part and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this Privacy Policy, be permitted to use your personal information for the purposes for which it was originally collected by us.

Continuing Education Credits

It is your responsibility to review the continuing education requirements of your professional association and to complete all of the course requirements in order to obtain your certificate of completion from Net of Knowledge. Net of Knowledge is not responsible for any licensing issues that may result from your failure to complete requirements or submit certificates for licensing renewal.

Privacy

Please review the privacy policy, linked to at the bottom of each page, to understand the information we collect and how we manage and store it to protect your privacy.
