Carolyn Reuben

Carolyn began using acupuncture for addiction treatment in substance abuse treatment programs in 1992 in Sacramento, CA and provided acupuncture to the Sacramento County Probation Department Drug Court, Kaiser Permanente's Chemical Dependency Recovery Program, and multiple other private and public treatment facilities.

In 1999 Carolyn was given the Harold Cole Annual Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Prevention and Treatment by the Sacramento County Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board.

In 2007 Carolyn was the founding director of the Alliance for Addiction Solutions, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to using acupuncture, nutrition, exercise, and other mind-body integration techniques to repair the brains of people with addictive and mental health disorders. Today she serves as president of the Alliance Board of Directors. She is also a Registered Trainer for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, training acupuncturists and others on using ear points to release natural painkillers and mood elevators, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve sleep in cases of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mental illness, and addiction.

Carolyn has lectured at state and national conferences, written magazine articles on the use of pharmaceutical-free treatments for addiction recovery, and serves as a consultant to help develop nutrition and acupuncture programs in private and public treatment facilities for those needing a holistic, compassionate, and drug-free path to recovery and health.
