Series Overview
Mastering the Treatment of Injury and Pain is the latest webinar from the office and clinic of Whitfield Reaves. In these courses, he describes specific assessment and treatment protocols for common clinical conditions. Emphasis is on gaining an anatomical understanding of the tissues involved, such as trigger points and motor points. The clear and precise techniques that result are sure to benefit your patients with injury and pain. Course 1 is an introduction to acupuncture sports medicine. We must understand what anatomical and orthopedic acupuncture is, and how it is used in a modern setting. This introductory course prepares the practitioner for each of the remaining modules. Course 2, 3, and 4 cover the shoulder and upper extremity. The low back and hip are discussed in Course 5 and 6. And finally, the lower extremity completes this webinar series with Course 7, 8, and 9. Each course contains lengthy presentations by the instructor, Whitfield Reaves. It may even include how the sports acupuncture community evolved these treatments, most of which were not written in any of the texts from China. At the end of each course, there is a short summary which gives the practitioner a quick way to reference the material. That is followed by demonstration videos of palpation, location, and needle techniques. This webinar series is designed to be viewed in sequential order. We strongly recommend that the practitioner complete the courses of this series from beginning to end. This series was introduced in 2021 and represents Whitfield's most current material on sports acupuncture, with demonstration video filmed in HD. The nine courses include additional injuries not covered in the 2011 series, Acupuncture Sports Medicine Webinar Series. Each course in this new series features more in-depth instruction on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment techniques. Whether or not you have already taken the older series, this new one is a must-have for deepening your clinical mastery.
What People Are Saying

Whitfield is very methodical with his approach to treating injuries in the field of sports medicine. I am so grateful that he is sharing his experience, knowledge and wisdom that spans over 30 years. I particularly enjoyed his consistent approach to treatment with his 4 steps, 10 techniques. He is very humble and authentic in his approach when discussing his experiences. I look forward to learning from Whitfield Reaves in person!

Whitfield Reeves is the best. A great teacher, immense clinical experience, bases his recommendations on what he has seen work, is not afraid to challenge text book classics when it does not match his long term experience. Is wiling to share everything and does not have some secrets he is unwilling to share with everyone. He is a humble good man in service to his patients and the profession. His teaching will benefit thousands he will never know of.

Whitfield Reaves is a wonderful teacher giving all relevant information, staying on topic with great clinical stories and demonstrations to illustrate his material. I love the way he integrates modern western sports medicine wisdom with TCM methods.

Whitfield Reaves is so incredibly knowledgeable and easily conveys information. While I have read his book and loved it, this seminar added those clinical pearls that you cant get from reading any book. Cant wait to watch the next installment!

*CEU/CPD Approvals

Some accreditation bodies have course approval expirations. If the approval expires, you will see a notice next to the name with a date of expiration: "[Until YYYY/MM/DD]". Please factor this date into your own renewal deadline. If an approval expires, you will be able to request that it is renewed and we will submit it for you within 2 business days. Renewals normally come back to us after 30 days. If your accreditation body is not listed under the "Approved" section, you may find it under the "Pending" section. That means that it is either currently pending approval, or that it is available for you to request: "[Upon Request]". New course approvals usually come back to us after 45 days. We use an automated system within our platform that allows you to make these requests in an easy and convenient way. Just visit the course page in your Net of Knowledge account and click the "Request Approval" button at the top. Each "Course and CEUs/CPDs" purchase grants you 1 request per accreditation body. If you request a course approval and do not complete it before its new expiration date, you will need to purchase another "CEU/CPD Add-On" to make another request. If the course is ineligible for approval with an accreditation body due to their subject-matter policies, it will be listed as "[Ineligible]", and no requests will be possible for the course. Because this is a series, approvals are done on a course-by-course basis. If you see "[Partial Approval]" that means that not all courses have approval at this time. You will be able to request the remaining approvals if "[Remaining Upon Request]" is listed in the Pending section.
