What People Are Saying

I completed all three phases of The Nectar of Plants, and would heartily recommend it. After 30 years of practice, and many continuing education classes, this one is at the top of my list. The material is compelling and challenging and Josephine has a remarkable facility with applying it to actual cases, and a genuine gift for teaching.

I do not say this lightly. I have not had the depth and breadth of information in any other essential oils course or literature I have attended or read. Ms Spilka is a natural teacher who will make sure the student understands the theory, and practical application of essential oils in the profession. Teaching the student how to make essential oil formulas and making available an ongoing support study group is an added plus, and the true hallmark of her excellence as a teacher in the profession.

Josephine utilizes an excellent teaching method, which she calls “layering”. She introduces information little by little throughout the context of the course, which allows time for processing, creating a deeper and longer lasting understanding of the use of these fascinating oils.

About Josephine Spilka

Josephine K. Spilka, M.S. L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist, practicing since 1994 with a Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Samra University in Los Angeles. Shortly after graduating, she was introduced to the synthesis of classical teachings and the modern practice of Chinese medicine by Sharon Weizenbaum and Jeffrey Yuen beginning in 1996. Josephine teaches, mentors and consults in Chinese medicine and Buddhist meditation. Additionally, as a former faculty member of Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina, she taught core curriculum courses utilizing classical systems such as Divergent Meridians, Luo Vessels, and Eight Extraordinary Vessels as well as supervising students in the college clinic and conducting case reviews. Combining deep study with practical application, Josephine aspires to share the benefits of putting the classical teachings into clinical practice with her students and other licensed professionals. In all that she does, Josephine is focused on investigating the relationship with essence in its many forms. Growing and innovating from her foundation in Chinese medicine, she teaches on essential oils and Chinese medicine, shares contemplative photography, and serves others in finding and mining their own essence. With pith and passion, Josephine brings together many streams of teachings to offer an inspiring and practical application of ancient wisdom. *CEU/CPD Approvals

Some accreditation bodies have course approval expirations. If the approval expires, you will see a notice next to the name with a date of expiration: "[Until YYYY/MM/DD]". Please factor this date into your own renewal deadline. If an approval expires, you will be able to request that it is renewed and we will submit it for you within 2 business days. Renewals normally come back to us after 30 days. If your accreditation body is not listed under the "Approved" section, you may find it under the "Pending" section. That means that it is either currently pending approval, or that it is available for you to request: "[Upon Request]". New course approvals usually come back to us after 45 days. We use an automated system within our platform that allows you to make these requests in an easy and convenient way. Just visit the course page in your Net of Knowledge account and click the "Request Approval" button at the top. Each "Course and CEUs/CPDs" purchase grants you 1 request per accreditation body. If you request a course approval and do not complete it before its new expiration date, you will need to purchase another "CEU/CPD Add-On" to make another request. If the course is ineligible for approval with an accreditation body due to their subject-matter policies, it will be listed as "[Ineligible]", and no requests will be possible for the course. Because this is a series, approvals are done on a course-by-course basis. If you see "[Partial Approval]" that means that not all courses have approval at this time. You will be able to request the remaining approvals if "[Remaining Upon Request]" is listed in the Pending section.
